Terms of Service

Welcome to ClipStack. By installing our Chrome extension or using our web app at clipstack.one, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. The Service

ClipStack is a read-later tool that lets you save web articles, read them later in a clean view, and search across everything you've saved. We offer a free plan and an optional paid Pro plan. The core features — saving articles, full-text search, reader view, tags, and unlimited saves — are free and will remain free.

2. Your Account

You sign in via Google OAuth. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use ClipStack. Accounts are personal and may not be shared or transferred. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

3. Your Content

The articles you save are fetched from public URLs using Mozilla's Readability.js. You retain ownership of any personal notes, highlights, or tags you create. You grant ClipStack a limited licence to store and display your saved content solely to provide the service to you. We do not sell, share, or use your saved content for advertising.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) use the service to scrape or harvest content at scale; (b) attempt to circumvent paywalls or access controls on third-party sites; (c) reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the ClipStack extension or web app; (d) use the service in any way that violates applicable law. We reserve the right to terminate access for violations.

5. Pro Subscription

Pro features are available for a monthly or annual fee. Subscriptions renew automatically. You may cancel at any time — your plan downgrades to free at the end of the billing period and your data is never deleted. Refunds are handled case-by-case; contact us within 7 days of a charge if you have an issue.

6. Data & Export

You may export all your saved articles, tags, and highlights at any time in JSON or CSV format. We will never hold your data hostage. If ClipStack shuts down, we commit to giving at least 30 days' notice and providing a data export tool.

7. Availability & Uptime

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance will be announced in advance where possible. ClipStack is provided "as is" and we disclaim warranties to the extent permitted by law.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ClipStack and its operator shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Third-Party Services

ClipStack uses Google for authentication and OpenAI for AI summaries (Pro). These are governed by their respective terms of service. We are not responsible for third-party services' availability or practices.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or via a banner in the app at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of ClipStack after that date constitutes acceptance.
